EARLY YEARS LEVEL

The early years stage promotes all areas of development and it has been proven that dance and music promotes the brain cells to make the connections needed for virtually every kind of intelligence.

Music & Movement: This class is an introductory class for toddlers and is ballet based with natural movement that helps develop coordination and movement to music. AGE: 2 – 3 years COMMITMENT: 1x per week

Pre Ballet: A continued curriculum that focuses on the development of basic movement skills, musical awareness, expression and creativity. Theme classes encourage participation, attention and confidence that prepare students for entry to the Foundation Stage. AGE: 4 – 6 years COMMITMENT: 1x per week

FOUNDATION LEVEL

Primary: This class lays the initial foundation for traditional classical ballet technique. The students become well rounded dancers with an initiation to self discovery of who they are as an artist. AGE: 6 – 7 years COMMITMENT: 2x per week; Contemporary optional

Vaganova A: This class adds onto the initial foundation for traditional classical ballet technique. The students become well rounded dancers with an initiation to self discovery of who they are as an artist. AGE: 7 – 9 years COMMITMENT: 2x per week plus Contemporary

Vaganova B: This class continues to build & strengthen the foundation for traditional classical ballet technique. The students become well rounded dancers with self discovery of who they are as an artist. AGE: 9 – 11 years COMMITMENT: 2x per week plus Contemporary; PrePointe optional

PRE-PROFESSIONAL & VOCATIONAL LEVELS

AGE: 11 – 18 years  COMMITMENT: 2x – 3x per week plus Contemporary; Pointe Work; Private coaching optional

A continuation of Foundation levels of Society of Russian Ballet curriculum with a higher commitment to the development of the student’s artistry and craft. It commences from the age of approximately eleven and is geared towards those engaging in the serious study of ballet. 

Classes continue to incorporate Pointe training, Pilates Conditioning and Contemporary Dance. Exams are recommended on an annual basis as it provides constructive feedback to each student on their progress and where to refine their skills. Students will be approved for examination by the Prima Team.

Contemporary

This form of dance is probably the most popular and has since grown to become one of the dominating performance genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world. In terms of its technique, contemporary dance tends to utilize both the strong and controlled legwork of ballet and modern dance.
